Dear MSRT colleagues,
Regenerative therapies are novel innovative therapeutic strategies which aim to provide repairing, substituting and regenerating solutions for tissues and organs altered both by untreatable and devastating diseases and aging. Regenerative therapies are holding a great interest as having the potential to significantly improve the quality of life of patients by reducing pain, delaying the progression of chronic diseases and promoting wound healing. Thus, regenerative therapies represent a serious opportunity and a revolutionizing approach of the modern medicine which the targeted major medical objectives are prevention and cure. Morocco is currently hardly working in order to improve its health system by upgrading related institutions, and by consolidating and aligning the quality of services provided to high level standards. Innovative health solutions are part of this strategy which economical potential is significantly expanding in the medical field. Morocco is definitely engaged in this orientation which should in parallel stimulate investment in the modernization of the field. Moroccan Society for Regenerative Therapies (MSRT) has been created with the principal aim to actively contribute to the development and adoption of regenerative therapies in Morocco by participating in the resolution of regulatory, ethical and guideline barriers in deep consultation with regulatory bodies.
I am privileged to undertake this responsibility within the MSRT, to establish the strategic path to work with and to contribute with my colleagues to an efficient translation of scientific knowledge into medical solutions in Morocco and abroad. MSRT engagement towards patients with unmet medical needs is to successfully establish a solid and rigorous scientific, clinical and ethical background for an efficient widespread application of those therapies. MSRT will ensure the broad involvement and greatest engagement of all concerned entities, at all levels to promote regenerative therapies in Morocco and abroad by nurturing the interactions between academic and clinical institutions from one side, as well as patients and the general public from the other side.
